/ ABOUT
I am Kerstin Lehr, an acupuncturist with over ten years of full-time clinical practice.
I have carried out more than ten thousand treatments, and have observed how profoundly we are shaped by life experiences that leave a lasting imprint. Over time, and with the appropriate support, the effects of these experiences can begin to shift, opening the possibility for meaningful transformation.

/ MY STORY
From Academic to Five Element Acupuncturist
I first encountered acupuncture as a PhD student living and working in China. Having grown up in Germany, where there is a strong tradition of holistic medicine, I was immediately intrigued.
Upon returning to the UK and experiencing the life-changing benefits of regular treatment, I was inspired to become an acupuncturist myself.
I am interested in working with people at all stages of life, from adolescence through to advanced age. I work with patients who have complex, chronic conditions, and with women’s health in particular.
I am deeply curious about the circumstances that shape each individual, and how these come to be expressed in their health and well-being.
TRAINING / EXPERIENCE / MEMBERSHIPS
In 2015, I completed a three-year training course at The Acupuncture Academy in Leamington Spa, graduating with Distinction in the Professional Licentiate in Acupuncture. My training focused on Five Element Theory alongside Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western biomedicine.
I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), the UK’s leading body for traditional acupuncturists, which sets the highest standards for training, practice and professionalism. As a member of the BAcC, I adhere to the BAcC’s Codes of Safe Practice and Professional Conduct.
In addition to my clinical practice, I worked for three years as an Accreditation Officer for the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board, which fosters and monitors educational standards for UK-based acupuncture training programmes. I also tutored at The Acupuncture Academy for four years.
I embrace continuous professional and personal development – life-long learning – as necessary to providing patient care to the highest standard.
-
I have trained with outstanding Five Element practitioners and teachers such as Nora Franglen, Guy Caplan, Niki Bilton and Lorie Dechar.
I participated in a two-year-long programme in Shen-Hammer Pulse Diagnosis with the late Sybill Huessen, as well as a two-year-long ‘Clinical Integration’ programme with Lonny Jarrett for advanced practitioners of Chinese Medicine. -
I am a long-standing member of Professor Heiner Fruehauf’s ‘Classical Chinese Medicine’ programme, focusing on the direct transmission of classical teachings and reflecting contemporary developments in both China and the West.
-
I have pursued studies with Debra Betts in obstetric acupuncture; trained in Master Tung-style acupuncture and bleeding techniques with Philip Weeks; and honed my tongue-diagnosis skills with Barbara Kirschbaum.
I have trained with Clive Whitham in his ‘Gua sha for Acupuncturists’ course, and in his EIM™ Facial Gua Sha course (advanced level) at the Komorebi Institute in Barcelona.
In early 2026, I embarked on a nine-month-long mentorship programme, ‘Daoist Death Medicine’, with Dr Randine Lewis, a course for Chinese Medicine practitioners called to work with death, dying, and end-of-life care.
-
My clinics are licensed by Westminster and North Hertfordshire District Council respectively; I hold full medical malpractice and public liability insurance cover.
